Sales Content terms

Sales content sold on StoryLine sites is typically done through a Stations Digital Sales Manager (DSM) and contains one or more of these inventory items. In all cases below the SPONSORED TOGGLE needs to be set to the "On" position (article story and or section)

Display Advertising — An advertisement graphic or rich media ad that appears on the site page

  • Banners spec Web (728x90, 300x250, 300x600),  Mobile (320x50, 250x300)
  • Homepage takeovers (wallpapers, display, sliding billboards)
  • Video (Pre-roll, Mid-roll)

Branded Content simply put: An advertisment that is turned into an editorial (Sponsored toggle set to "on" on story pages and sections)

  • Blogs, Articles or content with a promotional tone
  • Advertiser Generated Content
  • Content we produced for a client that is focused on promoting their products and services.

Sponsored Content (also called Franchised Content) — simply put: Advertisers pay to promote their Brand within related content

  • Advertiser brand association of products and topics within related station/corp generated content
  • The goal of sponsored content is to provide our audience with informative content that promotes a particular topic, subject, news content, etc, and is not focused on promoting products and services of that brand. 

Native — simply put: Ads placed in Content Display to drive traffic to Advertorials & Sponsored Content

  • Non traditional, contextual ads displayed in content or feed display to drive traffic to content marketing piece

Content that is sponsored– simply put: News Content that is sponsored 

  • Station or Corporate generated content with surrounding sponsorship advertising – traditional or premium display opportunities.
  • Advertorial writers will write the content or editorial tasks can be shared with the Advertiser.
  • All content published to a StoryLine site needs to go through an editorial pass before being posted.
