Article 6: How to clear Chrome browser cache for StoryLine

At times, you may be asked to clear your cache to resolve a StoryLine issue or after a StoryLine update has been released.

Option 1 provides the simple steps to clear your full Chrome browser cache.

Option 2 provides the steps to clear the cache for just your current StoryLine session in Chrome.  This way, you refresh StoryLine without impacting the rest of your browsing history.

Option 1: Clear your Chrome browser cache

  1. Log out of Storyline
  2. Close all but one Chrome window/tab
  3. Go to settings in the upper right corner of the browser window (three dots)
  1. Click on 'Delete Browsing Data
  2. Pick Time Range: All Time
  3. Check Cached images and files
  4. Click on Delete Data
  1. Once this is done close this last window session
  2. Reopen Chrome and log back into Storyline

Option 2: Clear only the StoryLine cache in your Chrome browser:

  1. Navigate to Sinclair Storyline
  2. Open developer tools (Option + Command + I)
  3. While the developer tools are open, right-click on the refresh icon next to the address bar
  4. Select Empty Cache and Hard Reload

If the above steps do not resolve your issue, try clearing your full Chrome cache following the steps in Option 1.
